Musée de la danse ?

Since January 2009, the Dancing Museum proposes an experimental, physical and mental space for dance, a lively place. To search, displace, broaden dance... a building site is opening. Exhibitions, workshops, residences for artists and research workers in all subjects, creations, orations will sketch out the first answers to the question : what could such a museum be?

Directed by artist Boris Charmatz, the Dancing Museum finds its origin in a manifesto.

Established in Rennes, the Dancing Museum comprises two working spaces: the 38 rue St Melaine and Le Garage. It is supported by the City of Rennes, the Brittany Region, the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and the Ministry of Culture and Communication.

The Dancing Museum is part of the National Choreographic Centres network.
