Engaged in actions of collaboration with educational establishments, social structures and cultural partners, the Dancing Museum develops various projects of enhancing public awareness in favour of a widened practice of dancing. We wish to toil so that a deep-rooted work on a living choreographic history and culture may be done for the benefit of a wide audience.
Artists' résidence at school:
Conceived by an artist, for and with the children, in close collaboration between the educational team and the Dancing Museum, a creative project is fitted inside a school. The artist's residence gives the children an opportunity to cross, to expriment an artistic process, from the work's first stages to the production of a project.
2009 : Petit projet de la matière at the Sonia Delaunay school with artist Anne-Karine Lescop
2010 : Petit musée de la danse at the Picardie school with artist Thierry Micouin
Practice workshops (primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, universities, associations):
Proposed by dancers, those workshops are elaborated in relation with the Dancing Museum's activities. They can be either momentary or long-lasting.
Visit of the Dancing Museum (groups):
Discovery of the premises (rehearsal studios, dressing rooms, ateliers) in the form of a guided tour, interspersed with meetings with its "dwellers" whether they be artists, technicians or administration staff members.
Documentary resources (students, teachers and research workers):
A centre of resources related to choreographic art is at your disposal.
Initiation to choreographic culture (groups):
Workshops around a work, a theme or more widely a panorama of contemporary dancing based on video documents from the Dancing Museum's collection.
Actions can be planned separately or be articulated within the frame of a circuit (ex: a circuit including a tour of the premises, practice workshops, a public rehearsal and a writing workshop...).
