The Dancing Museum invites Le Pavillon, laboratoire de création du Palais de Tokyo.

Seven young artists and two exhibition curators stop at Rennes, under an international flag. On active duty for the Dancing Museum, they will try to inscribe their respective practices inside the paradoxical frame proposed by Boris Charmatz: to produce the Dancing Museum’s fantasies, reproduce, document, copy, divert the masterpieces that could enter its collections; represent what it evokes, play with the metaphors that it unfolds, invent its extensions… Works of art about dance? Dance exposed by artists? Dance forgeries, or dance for false? Service Commandé (on commission) is a hybrid event, born from the encounter between the creative laboratory of the Palais de Tokyo and the Dancing Museum. For the time of a residence and an exhibition, the Pavillon meets dance and the museum becomes pavilion – light and ephemeral welcoming place. For everyone, the possibility to shift his questions, his operative modes, to confront object, frame, theory, and to place them at the crossing point of plastic arts and living arts.
